CAS on Sunday, 'sketch' challenge!

Hey ya'll! It's that time again....time for another CAS on Sunday challenge!

And for this challenge, you need to use the sketch!

I'm not really sure how the 'theme' of this card came to me?...But it did! :)

I ended up tearing my paper edges, by hand. Then added my wood veneer on top. I was debating whether to use white, cream, or kraft cardstock...Then I decided to go with a nice colored cardstock. I think the colors work lovely together?!.... :)

If you play along with us, you have the chance to win a fabulous prize from Team Utopia!

Be sure and stop by CAS on Sunday and see the rest of the DT's creations, too! ;)

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Did you see??!!

Hey y'all! Happy Friday!! :) I've been holding in some news...but now, I can shout it out!!

Eeeeeek! I can't believe I won!!! :) When I received an email telling me I won, I instantly wanted to jump up and down. Though, I was still sitting on the plane! So, I had to bottle it in until I got home (well, more like the car)! lol :) I'm am thrilled with excitement and I'm still in shock, some...! A BIG thank you to Paper Crafts Magazine!!! :)

I wish I had a card to share, but I've still been trying to gather myself together with everything going on. Though, I WILL be back soon with a card...I promise!! ;)

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your day/weekend!! ;)

Laughter is the SPARK....

Hey y'all! I'm back today and I managed to make a card! How I managed to make a card, I do not know....To be honest, I been keeping myself busy and going, trying not think about things too much. I'm not really sure if that's a good thing or not?....So, I'll just do one day at a time and hopefully, things will get a little better. :)

Now, on to my card! I made this card for the current CASE this Sketch challenge. I wasn't even planning on doing any challenges, as of yet. Then, when I was browsing around and saw the sketch, I thought it was a fun one. Though, I figured I wouldn't come up with anything that quick enough...then long behold, I did! :)

Please excuse my lighting. The bottom picture, you can truly see the color of the sequins. I tried angling my card the same way as below, but then the lower half of the card was darker. So, I just stuck with this picture. ;)

I was really just playing around with this card. I pulled out some copics, thinking it be fun to use them. I pulled out some stamps, that I rarely use. And I even managed to use some sequins! :) Does this card work or not?....I'm not sure. I can't say it's bad but I think it's pretty good, considering all that I have going on.....?

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your day!

A little update

Hey, everyone! I just wanted to post a quick little update.

I realize my blog has been somewhat quiet. To fill you all in, my family and I went on an emergency trip to see my Dad. My Dad had been ill for awhile and it was hard to say, how much time he would have left with us. One wish he had was to see his grand kids and we made that happen. We enjoyed a couple days with him and sadly, he passed away. I have been constantly 'going', that I don't think it's all quite sunken in, yet. My emotions are all over the place and at the same time, I'm trying to be strong.

I just wanna share a little something about my Dad. Not only was he a good man, but he was a wonderful father. We were very close, even though we lived over 3,000 miles away from one another. We would talk on a daily basis, every week. If I waited too long to call, he would call me. And by too long, I mean even a few days was too long. Something my Dad did every year and I mean every year was, he would call up on Christmas and in his best Santa voice would say "Ho, ho, hoooooo....Meeeery Christmas". He's done that since I was little and old (to him I was always his little girl, no matter how old). I certainly, will miss hearing him call. However, I told my brother he needs to pick up his duty to call on Christmas. (he has plenty of time to practice)

My Dad left behind a wonderful and amazing wife, that I am so happy to call my step-mom. As well as, her two kids. Which are just as awesome, as she is. Along with my brother and I. And of course, all the grand kids. I believe he is looking down on all of us and smiling and probably seeing just how crazy his grand kids are!

I miss my Dad tremendously and know, he will always be my Dad. I'm going one day at a time and though I'll never forget him, I'm hoping things will get a little easier for me. I know he's in a better place and free of all pain.

While I have no card to share, I certainly plan on keeping up my blog and what I love to do. I know my Dad would want me to continue with my passion. He always loved my cards. So, I will be back soon (with a card).

I thank you all for stopping by and being understanding. Enjoy your day.

Round and Round

Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! And you know what Sunday means....A new CAS on Sunday challenge!! :) This challenge is "Round and Round", you need to use circles on your card!

And if you come on over and play, there's a chance you could win a wonderful prize from Team Utopia!

So here's my card!

I really was playing around with this challenge. I always seem to have a hard time with circles on cards....go figure! ;) I was looking at my dies and embossing folders and then suddenly, it dawned on me. I was looking right at "xoxo's"!

Now for the embossing, I did something different. I first made the 'lower' impression. Then made the top impression. Lastly, I made my impression in the middle of the two. What this did, caused the other two impressions to flatten out, leaving the middle one raised up. How, you ask?...When using my embossing folder (which is just a single strip, of the "xoxo's"), the top and bottom edges of my folder covered the other "xoxo's". Leaving this, for my outcome. :) Oh! And there's my clouds again! lol Hope you don't mind?! ;)

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Sending smiles...

Hey y'all! It's Wednesday, already?!! Before I  know it, it'll be Friday again! :) Well, today I'm stopping in to share a card I made for the current Casology challenge! I happened to make this card last night, at around 10 pm...that's unusual for me. I'm normally in bed! lol ;)

So, here's my take on the 'cue card'!

I was very determined to play with this week's challenge. I missed the last couple and I didn't want to let this one go bye, too. ;) Now, I recently bought this little cloud punch and I'm somewhat obsessed with it! So, prepare yourself, because you may be seeing it around some more....hopefully, you like clouds?! ;)

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Just a little post...

Hey y'all! I just wanted to stop in and share a card I made. :) Yesterday, was my birthday and now I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. Not that I did anything crazy, because really my husband just took me to a couple craft stores and then I relaxed at home. ;) But I have wanting to craft, yet when I try, I seem to come up empty handed. Until now....

This card was just for fun. No challenges or anything. Just because. :)

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Blah, blah, blah....

Hey y'all! It's Friday!! Yay! :) Well, I sure wish my weather was better. The past days have been nothing but dark and stormy. So, I haven't been able to take any photos and my blog is was falling behind. For today, I'm gonna share a card I made for  PSA Essentials.

I just was having some fun with this card. I wanted to do something a little different and make my sentiment stand out some. So, this is what I did!

Blah, blah, blah, blah.....yep. Stamped it over and over. And even stamped a few on top of one another, just to add some interest. :) I think it's a fun card and who doesn't say blah, blah, blah, at times??! ;)

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your day/weekend!!
